New Lotus Esprit Appears in Paris

The Esprit was finally revealed at the Paris Motorshow on 30th Septmeber 2010. The car features a mid-mounted 611bhp 5.0-litre V8. The top speed will be 330 km/h and acceleration will be 0-100 km/h 3.4 seconds, The Esprit is due in the spring of 2013.

The new Esprit weighs 3,200 Lbs and is powered by the same forced-induction 5.0-liter V8 that's in the Lotus Eterne super sedan. That means an 8,500rpm redline, 612 HP and 530 Lb-Ft of Torque. Ditching Toyota power is clearly one of the upsides of the new, more complicated Lotus.

Four-door Sedan Lotus Eterne Revealed in Paris Auto Show

A Lotus sedan? Yes, indeed. For 2015, Lotus' Eterne will rival the Aston Martin Rapide, housing a 550-horsepower engine shared with the Esprit up front. The structure, panels, and suspension are all aluminum and with a length of 196 inches, the Eterne is said to be almost as spacious as a Porsche Panamera.

Faster Edition: Lotus Elise

The Lotus Elise is a two seat, rear-wheel drive, mid-engined roadster conceived in early 1994 and released in September 1996 by the English manufacturer Lotus Cars. The car has a hand-finished fibreglass body shell atop its bonded extruded aluminium chassis that provides a rigid platform for the suspension, while keeping weight and production costs to a minimum. The roadster is capable of speeds up to 240 km/h (150 mph). The Elise was named after Elisa, the granddaughter of Romano Artioli who was chairman of Lotus at the time of the car's launch.

Car Review: Lotus Elan Sprint

Next year it will be 10 years since the Lotus Elan first came on the scene as something of a revolution in small sports cars. Never before was so much performance allied to such superb handling in such a compact and manoeuvrable package. Along the way it has been improved and developed, appearing as the Elan Coupe S/E in 1967, the Elan S4 two years later and now the Elan Sprint.
