The jaguar c-x75 concept car brings a racing mentality to an electric car. the car was unveiled at the 2010 paris motor show to celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary. the car has four separate electric motors located at each wheel delivering 196 horsepower each. these engines are run on batteries that
are powered by two micro-gas turbines. the jaguar engineers estimate that the car could reach 205 mph with a driving range of 560 miles.

But the new Jaguar C-X75 (‘C’ for concept, ‘X’ for experimental, ’75’ to mark the brand’s 75th anniversary) is also a technological statement. Jag has spotted the kudos granted to Porsche for stealing the Geneva 2010 show with the 918 Spyder – and realises that its graceful, paceful cars require a green balance. The C-X75 is that car.

The vehicle is powered by four 195-horsepower electric motors, one in each wheel. The wheel motors give the vehicle an all-wheel drive system, with torque-vectoring controls to distribute power as needed to each wheel.

From our vantage point, we're split on the looks. While most of us think it's stunning – especially in person – there's a vocal minority that doesn't think it looks "Jaguar" enough. Truth be told, it doesn't necessarily look like any Jaguar road car ever built, but it's easy to see that inspiration was taken from the 1966 Jaguar XJ13 race car.

The Jaguar XJ is a proud production made by Jaguar which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Indian company Tata Motors, Ltd. since 2008, where it is operated as part of Jaguar Land Rover group. The XJ was launched in 1968 and has served as the Jaguar flagship model for most of its production span which continues through to today. The original model was the last Jaguar saloon to have had the input of Sir William Lyons, the company's founder.

Now you can see that Jaguar hasn't revealed much – but the top-down view does show that the newcomer gets a panormaic glass roof for the first time. According to sources, this will be an option on the finished car.

It also boasts the same pronounced bonnet bulge as the XF, along with neatly styled bright red tailights. Described by Jaguar as being even more radical than the XF, the XJ gets a sleeker, more coupe-like roofline, which mixes with a low nose and high tail to result in a really sporty shape.

Two versions will be available with short and long wheelbases. Under the skin is a totally re-engineered version of the current XJ’s lightweight alloy chassis, boasting the XK coupé’s rear suspension, plus increased passenger space. Inside, the XJ will draw on the XF with a striking cabin. Jaguar says the XJ will introduce 'the highest standards of personal luxury'.

Under the bonnet, top-spec models will get a new 5.0-litre direct-injection V8 engine, which produces 385bhp in normally aspirated form. A supercharged version, pushing out 503bhp will be available too, although it is unlikely to be badged XJR.

However, a new 271bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine is expected to account for the majority of XJ sales. This will be capable of returning an amazing 40mpg – the same as the recently launched Diesel S version of the XF – thanks to the new XJ’s lightweight alloy construction.

The Jaguar XF has gotten off to a strong sales start, and with a tempting new diesel engine option in Europe and a new "R" performance model, the sport sedan is being asked to carry a lot of water for the British brand. And if new rumors prove to be true, the XF will soon be able to tote a lot more of the wet stuff thanks to a new wagon variant.

According to Auto Motor und Sport, Jaguar will unveil a thinly-disguised XF Estate concept car at September's Frankfurt Motor Show, with a 2011 production model following about six months later. AMuS also suggests that there will be an XFR estate model to take on BMW's M5 Touring and Audi's RS6, and like its sedan counterpart, it is expected to be V8-powered with some 510 supercharged horsepower. Naturally, more measured V8 and V6 models will also make the scene, along with a pair of V6 diesel models.

Other XF variants, including a possible coupe and convertible are reportedly on the table. Us? We're looking forward to clapping our eyes on the load-lugging cat, and hope that the XF's rumored quality problems don't dog what is sure to be a stylish family transporter.
